Closed doors is first part of a death and surrender themed dance series by choreographer Alpo Aaltokoski. First part consist of two independent solo dance.

The fact that the performance happens among the audience seating was one of the key starting points for the lighting design. I wanted to create a cozy atmosphere in which audience wouldn’t feel too exposed even though they’re sitting in the middle of the stage. I created oval shaped sheets of plastic that worked as diffusers to distribute soft light around the space.
