Modern Sky Festival Helsinki was organized for the first time in 2015. It was a collaboration with Chinese record label Modern Sky and Finnish music organization ELMU. I was responsible for lighting design for three of the stages and the festival area.
The main idea behind the design was to create something bold and fresh using only shades of white on the stages and no moving lights. I also focused on how the set-up looked in daylight as most of the bands performed before sunset. The area was really inspiring with it's roughness and having the main stage under an old crane was a brilliant idea from the technical producer Esa Kandelberg.
I had the pleasure to work with great lighting operators who understood my ideas and brought them to life, while I operated the main stage my self.
